Bounce Defaults
Choose what every session starts with when you add it: its format, mix source, range and bounce options.
In short
Set the defaults
Open Settings › Bounce Defaults and choose what a new session starts with. They're applied when you add a session.
Fixed or Session
Pick a fixed value, or Session to follow whatever the Pro Tools session uses.
One session only
To change just one session, use Setup in the main window instead. Every bounce still keeps its own Setup.
Bounce Defaults are what Setup starts with in a session you've just added. Each value is a fixed choice or Session, which follows whatever the Pro Tools session is set to. Change them here and every session you add from now on gets them.
Format
| Setting | Values |
|---|---|
| File type | Session, WAV, AIFF or MP3. |
| Bit depth | Session, 16, 24 or 32 float. |
| Sample rate | Session, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 or 192 kHz. |
Mix source
Pick from the open session's outputs and buses. Update markers and mix sources from Pro Tools refreshes the list.
Range
Timeline Selection or Memory Location.
Bounce options
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Realtime bounce | Plays the session in real time, for outboard gear. |
| Pad to frame boundary | Rounds the range to whole video frames, for video deliverables. |
| Import after bounce | Adds each file back to the Pro Tools session. |
These are defaults only: the chips under the bounce list override them for the next bounces you add, and every bounce keeps its own Setup. See Changing Parameters.
